Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Develop and prepare detailed quantity take-offs using digital estimating software and manual methods as needed.
- Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring scope coverage and competitive pricing.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Develop and maintain cost databases and historical pricing data to support future estimates and budgeting efforts.
- Prepare and submit formal bids, proposals, and tender documents in accordance with project requirements and deadlines.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative construction methods.
- Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations in materials, labor rates, and industry standards to ensure up-to-date estimates.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid evaluations to fully understand project conditions and risks.
- Coordinate with procurement and project management teams to transition successful bids into active projects and support early-stage planning.
