Accounting Supervisor
Join GMP as an Accounting Supervisor and help manage daily financial operations, construction accounting, reporting, and process improvements in a growing construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:
WIP & Project Accounting
Prepare and analyze monthly schedules. Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure all job costs, change orders, and estimated costs to complete are accurately captured and reflected in the WIP project margin.
Billing & Revenue Recognition
Collaborate with Project Management on the end-to-end AIA billing process, ensuring all invoices are submitted on time, correctly certified, and reflect current project progress. Monitor receivables, including retention, and work with project management to ensure timely collections.
Financial Reporting & Accounting
Oversee the monthly closing process, account reconciliations, and accounting system. Generate accurate financial statements, cost variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts.
Cost Control
Monitor project budgets, review vendor invoices, track planned vs. actual costs, identify cost overruns, and monitor overall corporate spending.
Process Improvements
Utilize the newly implemented ERP to optimize processes and leverage existing technologies for efficiencies. Participate in and develop cross-functional projects to improve operational flow.
Internal Controls
Develop and assess internal controls to mitigate financial risk, ensure compliance, increase efficiencies, and support a growing environment.
Qualifications:
Experience
5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years specifically within the construction industry.
Growth Environment
Experience working in high-growth environments with a focus on developing controls, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
ERP Software
Experience with construction-specific ERP software such as Foundation Accounting preferred, Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar.
Excel & Accounting Skills
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis, including pivot tables and complex formulas, with a strong understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting.
Communication
Strong interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between finance and operations/project management in a construction environment.
