Lead day-to-day field operations on GMP job sites while overseeing crews, schedules, safety, and quality from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Execution
- Oversee day-to-day field operations on heavy-duty construction sites (earthworks, roadworks, infrastructure, etc.).
- Ensure work is executed according to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and construction crews.
Schedule Management
- Develop and maintain construction schedules.
- Monitor progress to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
- Adjust plans and workflows in response to delays, weather, or unforeseen conditions.
Site Coordination
- Manage daily site logistics, including equipment, materials, and workforce.
- Conduct daily site inspections and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the field and project management team.
Safety Enforcement
- Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., OSHA).
- Conduct site safety meetings, toolbox talks, and inspections.
- Address safety concerns immediately and report incidents.
Resource Management
- Coordinate the delivery and use of heavy equipment and construction materials.
- Monitor usage to prevent waste and manage costs.
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of heavy-duty equipment.
Quality Control
- Ensure workmanship meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and rectify deficiencies or substandard work.
- Work with engineers and quality control personnel as needed.
Communication & Reporting
- Provide daily and weekly reports on progress, issues, and delays.
- Communicate clearly with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients.
- Document site activities, personnel, incidents, and change orders.
Problem Solving
- Identify potential issues and resolve them proactively.
- React swiftly to on-site problems or emergencies.
- Make decisions in real-time to maintain workflow and safety.
